"LET'S PLAY" for Primary & Intermediate Schools

New Zealand Indoor Sports has developed a series of ‘Let’s Play’ Indoor Sports Programmes as an introduction to indoor sports (such as cricket, netball, football and other indoor sports) for primary and intermediate school children. The emphasis is on fun, active participation and the development of basic skills.

New Zealand Indoor Sports in conjunction with associated members and their affiliated centres are committed to providing a quality physical activity experience to active young people.  This is provided in safe and healthy centres, with quality equipment, fully trained staff and professional management.

The ‘Let’s Play’ programmes aim to create awareness and an interest in different indoor sport games, and to encourage children to play at their local centre.  At the same time, children will experience fun and enjoyment of participating in a team environment while developing social skills and self-confidence.  Children will be taught the basic skills involved in different indoor sports through planned programmes of activities and modified games.  ‘Let’s Play’ programmes also aim to provide a positive indoor sport experience for boys and girls of all ages, whilst promoting a healthy active lifestyle through participation in indoor sports.

Benefits of the “Let’s Play” programme include:
•    Indoor Sports can be played in any weather
•    Indoor Sports are low impact and non contact
•    Indoor Sports are sun safe
•    Indoor Sports promote a healthy, active lifestyle
•    Indoor Sports can be enjoyed by both boys & girls of all ages
•    Indoor Sports can be played at night or during the day
•    Indoor Sports can be structured to suit the needs of the group
